Music Lessons
The Teacher will provide guided instrumental music lessons for the student(s) on student specific scheduled dates. Dates and times can be changed at any time, depending on availability.
Expectations·
Both the Teacher and Student must demonstrate a respectful attitude towards each other, including respecting each others’ belongings and safety concerns.
· Students will be responsible for any damages caused by the student and/or their guests. The Teacher will be responsible for any damages caused by the Teacher.
Cancellations/Rescheduled Lessons/Holidays·
Studio Holidays will be highlighted in the calendar handed out on the first day of class/lessons.
· Rescheduling
TERMINATION OF CONTRACT/LIABILITY·
This contract may be terminated if the above terms have been breached or the studio closes. The Teacher will give notice of this as soon as possible and further steps will be taken.
· The Teacher will not be liable for any injuries that occur before or after the scheduled lesson times.
a) Rates for 2024-2025 are expected to remain the same or increase at a low percentage.
b) Contract - Emailed and paper copy. Only one contract needs to be signed and returned for 2023-2024 lessons.
Instruments
Lesson Plans
A) The Google Slides link provided in the welcome email will show the teachers’ notes from each lesson. As well as other important information about individual lessons each week.
i. The Google slides are set to “view/comment” for anyone who has the link.
ii. This link may require you to have a Gmail account to view on some devices.
iii. Practice the slide from the last lesson taught.
Music Books
ii) Purchase of the $10, 2023-2024 Practicing Booklet is required for students ages 3-16.
(1) Price includes, Practicing Booklet, bookmark, goal prizes and Student Composers book; available to take home in June 2024. Students will be composing their own pieces for each session. Pieces will be included in the 2024 Student Composers book.
iii) This year, students are required to select a music program to follow during lessons.
(1) Approximately 1-2 music books will be required to purchase or provide during lessons each year. Siblings can share the same books.

(iii) Bastien Piano Basics
(iv) Piano Adventures
(v) Alfred’s Basic Piano
In Studio Lessons
1. Doors will be open a minimum of 5 minutes before scheduled lesson times.
a) Waiting areas will be limited to 2 guests for the duration of the student’s lesson.
2. The Studio location will be outlined in the Google Slides.

- Notice must be given prior to 2pm on or before the lesson date. No exceptions. If said lesson could not be rescheduled before June 30/2024; no refund will be given for a student rescheduled lesson. If the Teacher needs to reschedule, lessons will be rescheduled during Orange dates outlined in the 2023-2024 Calendar.
- Lessons will be rescheduled in order. Ex: If the teacher or student needs to reschedule, Sept. 14 then Oct. 27,
- If notice is given after 2pm on or after the lesson date. No rescheduling or refund will be given for said lesson. If the teacher misses without notice, said lesson can be rescheduled or refund requested.

- Krista will not be accepting new guitar, ukulele or vocal students in 2023-2024.

- Recitals
- Students ages 3-16 will practice for a recital each session. (4 in total July-June) Details will be available closer to Recitals dates. Adults are welcome to participate.
- Students will be recorded by Krista via use of her cameras during lesson times.
- Students can choose if they would like to be a part of the Full Recital Video, shared privately to all current Kmusic and Design students, or for only their family to see their Personal Recital Video.
